I've been storing up fresh water in a bucket
Putting gold and gems and jewels inside a pail
And one day when those containers are tipped over
Its contents will spill out without fail.
I've been keeping hidden shame in a carton
Collecting sand and grime and dirt along the way
And some time when my being is filled over
Everything will fall, nothing remain.
Eventually we all fill up - what's in us overflows
Whist shaken, we spill the beauty and rubble
Of our content there below
The gold and jewels and sand and grime
And all the in-between
Life cuts us by bad blows sometimes
So what, friends, do you bleed?
